We have many innovations and are excited with this year’s reports. The recognition is attributed by Blue Yonder to its strong Supply Chain Planning solutions portfolio and its Luminate® Platform. Tesco cuts bread and butter prices to match Sainsbury’sīlue Yonder is recognized as a Leader in Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Supply Chain Planning Solutions report. Neither of them are the most vocal in the media about their prices, they don't need to be, that hard work has been done over the past decade. We have not seen Aldi or Lidl shouting or leading, but then again this should not be a surprise. So far we have seen Tesco lead on milk followed by JS then the rest & now JS leading on bread & butter, followed by Tesco, then the rest. It will be interesting to watch how price reductions are managed this year. Surely when it comes to prices falling then this same mantra should apply? With cost reductions then Tesco should get the least & receive it last, my bet is that they now want the most & first! Don't forget that Tesco said that their mantra is 'least & last' with regards to inflation. Buyers now seem to want their cake & eat it, when prices / currency / energy are going up then it is a battle with delay after delay. This meant that we did not buy chunks of currency when exchange rates were good, if a product was bought in Euros or Dollars then the cost price would move with the markets. When I was a Buyer we never hedged on anything, the mantra that we were told was 'we are not a bank', if prices fluctuate then we act accordingly. What are Suppliers supposed to do in these circumstances? Do they secure a price now banking on prices going up or do they hold on banking on prices coming down further? Although energy prices are lower now than they were a year ago we are already getting warnings that come winter prices may sky rocket again. Just as a reminder of areas where inflation is still on the increase, sugar, chocolate, rice, olive oil and many areas of Produce. The Retailers continue to focus their efforts on price & this will mean that Buyers focus solely on this as well, conveniently forgetting all the areas where inflation shows no signs of abating. This week is was 96.6 with Tesco on 66.7 & Asda on 91.9.Īs this year progresses the Retailers will continue to battle on price but this is no different to what we have seen in the past 12 months & every year before that. Their Availability is also consistently higher than their traditional rivals. In the Grocer 33, year to date, Asda have won 26 weeks with JS winning 10 weeks, Tesco have won zero, the same as Morrisons. The initial screen will look like below The first step is to add a BW project which is nothing but connecting to your BW/4HANA system. Will this be a headline that we see more of this year with regards to price? It shouldn't really be a surprise to see this headline when you look at Sainsburys price position. Click on the below-highlighted icon to change the perspective which in this case will be BW modeling. Spacetime might just come from magic.'Tesco follows Sainsbury's'. According to the RIKEN team’s recent study, spacetime may partially be a product of a quantum property called “magic.” Yup. It’s as basic as you can get.īut maybe not. It’s literally the ideas of space and time, but connected. You might hear people refer to “the fabric of spacetime,” and it’s the fundamental layer of many physical theories. In order to try and uncover yet another one of those layers-this time regarding what underpins the universe-a group of scientists from RIKEN research institute in Japan has been digging into spacetime. Time and time again, whenever we think we’ve arrived at the foundation, there’s still another level down to go. Poking around to see if anything makes up the basics has led to the discovery of everything from quarks to the Higgs Boson. According to a press release, the researchers’ work “provides the first direct link between the quantum property of magic and the chaotic nature of black holes.”ĭigging deeper and deeper into ideas we see as the most fundamental and basic is one of the things that scientists do best-especially physicists.“Magic” describes how hard a quantum state is to simulate on a regular computer.Scientists believe that spacetime may have emerged, in part, from a quantum property called “magic.”.
